Hi! Iā€™m Kris(he/him). I make games and tell stories, usually queer ones. I am an interdisciplinary artist and game designer. I create live interactive narrative experiences that tackle subjects such as gender, identity, and belonging. Growing up trans, I often felt lost and left out when interacting with my peers. There was little to no media that dealt with and spoke about being trans. I thought something was wrong with me until I went to university and met another trans person for the first time. Media these days is becoming more inclusive, but there are still many areas where representation needs to be improved. I have combined my passion for escape rooms with my skills as a game designer to create experiences that provide space for folks to explore access, identity, and gender.

Live interactive narrative experiences are becoming more common. Almost every town has an escape room or two, but these physical game experiences are underutilized. I seek to push the medium to its fullest potential. I design live interactive narrative experiences that tell challenging and exciting stories. I want players to leave having discovered something new about themselves.

My love of physical design, puzzles, and robotics are a big inspiration in my creations. I utilize microelectronics to create puzzles and pieces of experiences that feel whimsical and relevant. Many of my designs include using Arduino to create that magic. These, combined with the clever use of everyday objects, form most of my recent work. You would be amazed at what you can do with a deck of cards, a riddle, and a Sharpie.
